Timeframe

Tamweeli is a digital financing marketplace that connects small businesses and individuals with banks, financing institutions, and guarantee funds. Applicants compare and apply for SME financing, microfinance, personal and business loans, banking services, and insurance in one place. Lenders, business advisors, and accelerators review and move those applications forward on the same platform, in Arabic and English. A companion bookkeeping app helps business owners keep their numbers ready for the next application.

The challenge

Getting financing as a small business usually means a different form for every bank, unclear document requirements, and long silences after submitting. Banks and guarantee funds face the opposite problem: incomplete applications arriving by email, phone, and branch visits. Tamweeli needed one product that served five roles at once (applicants, banks and financing institutions, guarantee funds, enablers and accelerators, and business advisors), each with its own permissions and workflows. It also had to be Arabic-first and ready for launch in about four months.

Work process

Discovery & Role Mapping

We mapped the full application journey for every participant: the applicant, the bank or financing institution, the guarantee fund, the enabler or accelerator, and the business advisor. For each role we defined what they can see, do, and approve at every stage, so the platform could support one shared application without exposing data to the wrong party.

Guided Applications & AI Assistant

We designed guided flows for each product: SME financing, microfinance, personal and business loans, deposit, savings, and current accounts, credit cards, and business and personal insurance. Applicants choose a service, pick the right product, and then either fill in a structured form or complete the application with an AI assistant that asks the questions step by step.

Workspaces for Banks & Advisors

For the institutions on the other side, we designed application tables and kanban boards, loan officer assignment and reassignment, configurable application templates and required documents, reports, and a messaging thread inside every application for requests, approvals, and attachments. Enablers and accelerators can create applications on behalf of the businesses they support and track referrals.

Arabic-First UI & Mobile Adaptation

Every screen was designed in Arabic and English with true right-to-left layouts, not mirrored afterthoughts. We adapted the applicant experience for mobile and covered the details that make a financial product feel trustworthy: phone-number sign-up with verification codes, password rules, validation and empty states, and notification settings.

Build, Handoff & Launch

We implemented the approved designs with a shared component system across all five role workspaces, connected the application, messaging, and document flows, and tested each role end to end before release. The platform and the companion bookkeeping app were delivered within the four-month timeline, with a clear backlog for the next phase.

The solution

Tamweeli now gives every participant in SME financing one shared place to work. Applicants see all available financing, banking, and insurance products, apply once with a form or an AI assistant, and follow each application's status and messages from a single dashboard. Banks and financing institutions receive complete, structured applications, assign them to loan officers, and request missing documents in the same thread. Guarantee funds, accelerators, and business advisors join the process with their own workspaces instead of side channels. The companion bookkeeping app keeps a business's income, expenses, and cash flow in order, so the next financing request starts with real numbers.
