Self-Care-Wallet (SCW) is a two-sided marketplace designed to connect people with local wellness providers and introduce a new way to gift experiences. We developed a platform where businesses can easily showcase their services, while users can discover, book, and uniquely pay for self-care. The app's core innovation is "Care Dollars," a giftable currency that allows users to send the gift of wellness to friends and family, fostering a community built on well-being.

The challenge

Consumers struggled to find and compare local wellness services like yoga or massage in one place, often relying on scattered search results and outdated websites. For small wellness businesses, creating a professional online presence and attracting new clients was a time-consuming and expensive challenge. They needed a simple way to get online, look great, and process bookings and payments without technical expertise.

Work process

Discovery & Research

We began by analyzing the local wellness market, interviewing both potential users and business owners to validate the core concept. The research confirmed a strong desire for a simplified booking process and a novel way to gift experiences rather than physical items.

We specialize in digital solutions including website development, web applications, e-commerce platforms, and enterprise software integrations. Our expertise spans diverse industries, delivering strategic technological solutions tailored to unique business challanges.

Wireframing & UX

Our team designed two distinct user flows: one for businesses to onboard and manage their profile, and another for users to discover, book, and redeem services. We paid special attention to making the "Care Dollars" purchase, gifting, and QR code redemption process incredibly intuitive.

UI Design

The user-facing UI was designed to feel calming, clean, and inspiring, encouraging discovery and Browse. For the business side, we created a simple, functional interface that makes managing bookings and services straightforward and efficient.

Development

Our engineers built the complete ecosystem, including the consumer app, the business management portal, and the secure payment and gifting backend. A key innovation during this phase was developing the AI tool that automatically generates attractive images for service listings, solving a major pain point for businesses.

Launch & Support

We managed a city-wide launch, simultaneously onboarding an initial group of wellness providers and marketing the app to local users. We continue to provide full support, ensuring the platform runs smoothly while developing new features to expand the SCW community.
