The challenge

Work process
UX design
We made the next action visible and kept questions short. Large touch targets, plain language, strong contrast, and clear progress support patients who may be stressed or in pain.
Development
Reusable modules for plans, activities, check-ins, messages, appointments, and alerts support different care pathways. An integration layer can connect the product to existing clinic systems without coupling the mobile app to one provider.
Quality assurance
Rigorous testing covers plan assignment accuracy, reminder timing, offline recovery, duplicate entry prevention, photo upload resilience, device permissions, accessibility standards, and every clinical alert route. Safety-critical copy and escalation protocols are integrated into the deployment pipeline, subject to the same strict release controls as code.
Measuring Impact
A production release evaluates patient behavior and clinic response rather than simple download metrics. Patient activation tracks the percentage of invited patients who open and begin their care plan, while plan adherence measures assigned activities completed on time. Check-in completion monitors scheduled symptom updates submitted by patients, paired with time to review to assess how quickly the clinical team responds to updates marked for attention. Continuity measures active patient days and ongoing engagement between appointments, and appointment readiness ensures patients complete all required updates prior to their next scheduled visit.
