The challenge

Product, backend, design and QA were already moving, but too much mobile implementation depended on a small number of engineers. Roadmap features queued behind maintenance work, technical debt competed for the same capacity, and permanent hiring could not match the product schedule. The team did not need a separate delivery process or another management layer. It needed an engineer who could learn the existing codebase, follow the team's architecture and review standards, and work directly with product, design, backend and QA.

Ongoing collaboration

Capacity shifted between roadmap work, technical debt, performance and production issues as priorities changed. Astra Health kept control of the backlog, architecture and final approval.
